Are the Apple Airpods Worth it?

Ever since the release of Apple’s new wireless earbuds, the Airpods, people have been arguing over whether they are worth it or if they’re just overpriced. There’s no denying that the Airpods are bit on the pricy side coming in at a $159 but do they make up for the hefty price tag?

In terms of design you’re pretty much getting the same pair of earbuds which come inside the box of an iPhone, just without the wire connecting the two earbuds together. The main difference between the two Apple products is how the Airpods work internally. One of the main differences from other Bluetooth earbuds is how the Airpods charge. Inside the box, the Airpods come packed in a cradle. this cradle is used not only for storing the earbuds but are also used for charging them. There is a lightning port on the cradle itself and through that the Airpods are charged.

Even though the Airpods dont have any kind of chord connecting the two earbuds, they dont fall off while you’re listening to something and if you liked the in ear feel of the normal Apple headphones, then you will feel right at home with the Airpods as well. Connecting them is also super easy with Apple’s new w one chip. All you need to do is simply turn your phone on and pop open the lid of the charging cradle. As long as the Airpods are inside the cradle and they’re close to your phone it should automatically recognize them and then with one tap connect. You can also use the Airpods with other devices if you don’t own an iPhone.

However if you don’t have an iPhone then you’ll be missing out on features like Siri and iCloud syncing. You can launch Siri right from your Airpods by double tapping the back of an Airpod. Since inline controls are not available you can use Siri to change volume levels or skip a track etc. This may be difficult for someone who isn’t particularly comfortable using Siri and normally uses the inline controls for these kind of things. However the Apple Airpods do provide some useful and practical functionality for example, when you remove one of the Airpods from your ear while listening to a track, the track will automatically pause and will not play again until you put the Airpod back in your ear.this is also the case while watching a video, even on YouTube.  If you remove both of them then the Airpods will automatically turn off saving you precious battery life.

Speaking of battery life, it isn’t that great. Apple claims 5 hours of battery life on a single full charge. However in reality, they only last around 2-3 hours. While not the best in the battery department , the Apple Airpods do charge very quickly s that makes up for the poor battery life. Finally you now maybe wondering how these sound. Well to be honest, they sound much better than the generic Apple earpods. The Airpods definitely have a noticeable difference in the quality of music as compared to the lightning earpods and Overall the Airpods sound fantastic. However for the same or less price, you can get better wireless earbuds and in my opinion the Apple Airpods are not worth their price. But if you want truly ‘wireless’ earbuds then by all means, go for the Airpods.

Howdy! Quick question that’s entirely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My weblog looks weird when browsing from my apple iphone. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to correct this problem. If you have any suggestions, please share. Many thanks!
